Why we exist
The week nobody gets back
A scuffed bumper takes a technician four hours. Getting that bumper fixed takes most people a week: a trip to a shop for an estimate, a wait for a slot, another trip to drop the car off, a rental or a lift from someone, then a trip back.
Almost none of that is the repair. It is logistics built around the shop’s premises rather than around the person who owns the car. Once the estimate can happen from photos and the repair can happen on a driveway, the premises stop being necessary for this class of work.
That is the whole company. Photos instead of an estimate visit, a booked slot instead of a queue, and a technician who travels instead of a car that has to.
How we operate
- A network, not a fleet
- Repairs are carried out by vetted local technicians who already know their market. Crucible handles the estimate, the booking, the payment and the guarantee.
- Market by market
- We open a city when there are enough qualified technicians in it to hold a standard. Sacramento and Bay Area are live today.
- Retail only
- We do not process insurance claims. Customers pay directly, often because the repair costs less than their deductible.
- Within our limits
- Paint, dents, bumpers and wheels. Structural and collision work belongs in a full shop and we say so rather than taking the job.
